Hi Brooks, I just wanted to follow up after a couple of flights with my now modified Peltor headset including the gear that you shipped ( worked well ) to me. The ANR mods are much better than I had hoped for. I modified my Peltor headset with the ANR modules, auto-off battery box, new cable and the gelled earpieces. Even the gelled earpieces make a significant difference in noise and comfort but the ANR is fantastic. The amount of propeller noise reduction is amazing. Almost all of the piston/prop noise in my 172 is gone with ANR on. Yesterday I was taxiing to the active and had not turned the unit on yet. It seemed nice and quiet but then I realized I had not powered up. Pushed the switch on and it is like someone cups your years with bowls.
Well worth the money and you guys do a great job in customer communications pre and post sale as well as the quality of the kits. Highly recommended.
Pass my thanks around if you would.

Hi Bruce,
I've been using my headset for the past couple of weeks in busy airspace and wanted to let you know that I'm very impressed with your product. I will be highly recommending it to my colleagues and friends.
Best regards,
Mike

Hi there,
I put one of your units into my Peltor 9 years ago and I've been really happy with it and a real promoter of your product. The wires to the battery and the battery box now need to be replaced. I live in Victoria
Canada (by Vancouver). Could you give me prices for the battery box and cable and also for your new "all in one" cable and battery box.
Thanks,
Arnold Cottrell (I would like to purchase as soon as possible as a fly a Beech 1900D for work and its a little noisy without it)

Richard,
Just to let you know I received the kit on Monday, installed it late last night and works like a charm in the noisy metroliner!
Thanks again! Jay

Hello Richard,
A short note to let you know that my headset has been delivered today.
I wanted to let you know how happy I am with the result. The quality of the modules of course but also for your flexibility (accepting to take over after I tried myself) and the quality of the work done by the technician in your company.
No doubt I will have questions about the kit in my club. It will be my pleasure give your information to those who will want to know more.
Thanks again. George

I picked up a full conversion kit (M-01-A, AMP cable, gel seals) for my ancient H10-30s at Oshkosh
2006, and I can honestly say I've never been happier with a purchase. The installation went smoothly, only taking about half an hour (after I figured out how to get the AMP cable through the old DC strain relief) of actual work. Performance out of the box was incredible. My mutant -30s, with an older model electret mic purchased from you around 1994 and the shiny new ANR kit, are now the favorite headset of ..well...everyone I've ever let wear them. As an electrical engineer, I'm impressed with both the simplicity and effectiveness of the system, and as a former production type, I'm impressed with the construction and the ease of installation. The kit was worth every penny I paid for it, and a few more on top for the added safety factor (better intelligibility and less hearing damage). I've even tried wearing them while mowing the lawn, with very positive (quiet!) results, albeit some funny looks from the neighbors.
All in all, a class A product from a class A company. Thanks
Dave Paton

Subject: Re: Headsets ANR EM-1 System compared to a Pilot Brand Headset
Dear Michael,
I thought I'd give you some feedback on the EM-1 headset I bought from you per the recommendation below. As stated below I wear hearing aids with the headset and the Pilot headset left a lot to be desired. I've been very pleased with the EM-1. I haven't compared it to any other brands but it definitely outperforms the Pilot for me. I place my hearing aids in "telephone mode" to eliminate the feedback buzz in my hearing aids and then am able to utilize the EM-1 in the normal fashion with ANR. This has solved my problem and I'm very pleased with the EM-1. I haven't taken the Pilot out of the case since I got the EM-1.
Thanks for a great product.

Subject: Re: Headsets ANR System for Pilot Brand Headsets
Sir- yes, I think our system will work with the PA-1779, but the rechargeable batteries would have to come out of the earcup, and we would have to hard-wire the main audio cable to the headset. Also, the on/off switch would be moved from the earcup onto the battery box. Our battery box holds one 9 Volt battery, and lasts 15-20 hours. We also have an optional auto shut-off available. I think you would definitely notice an improvement in ANR, but the passive attenuation of that headset is not the best. Also, the installation would have to be done here at our factory. So you are looking at $169 for the kit, $50 for the install, $10 S&H, and $10 if you want the auto shut-off feature for a total of $239.00 and you would still have a relatively noisy headset with the ANR off. For a better solution, you might consider our EM-1 headset. At $399.00, it comes with two volume controls, noise canceling electret mic on a flexible goose-neck boom, stereo capability, a headset case, and the auto shut-off feature all included and it has some of the best passive attenuation characteristics of anything on the market. You can view more of the EM-1 at:

I have a Pilot model PA-1779 DNC XL ANR headset that I use with hearing aids, but I'm looking for something better. Does your system work with my headset? If so, will I note an improvement?
Thanks.

Paige,
I'm really pleased with your EM-1 Aviation Headset. I never was very happy with my David Clark X11. The noise canceling was not very good, and the volume level (amplitude) was never good even at full volume.
I'm sending you the carrying case for the David Clark as I'm sure you would like to have it.
As you may recall, I have the Gentex helmet with noise canceling, but it has never worked very well in the noisy environment of my SNJ. I'm working on the solution you suggested (12 volts) but my solution may not be very graceful. If you come up with a 12 volt battery box, I would be very interested in that solution. We have two other T-28's and another SNJ here at Concord Regional Airport, and I'm sure those pilots would be very interested also.

Subject: In-Line Volume Adjust
I have your ANR installed in an HGU-55 (no individual volume knob) and it works great in my RV-7 high-noise environment. It may work too well though. I have a set of Bose X headsets for a passenger. If I turn up the intercom volume (PSEngineering 8000B) high enough for the passenger, it's way too loud for the HGU. Is there a way to install an in-line volume adjustment to the helmet?
Thanks,
Jim

Subject: Product assessment
Hi! I just wanted to send you a note about my experience with your headset kit. I put my kit in my Sigtronics S-58s and the installation went flawlessly. I tested the system at home by sticking my head, complete with headset of course, in front of our big house fan. I clicked it on and the low end frequencies went away just as described by the graphs.
The headsets work great and I'm greatly pleased. I sometimes turn the power off to remind myself of how much noise is being blocked. My only negative about the sound is when the noise reduction is on, the stereo perspective that one hears in the cockpit via ears (not stereo headsets) goes away, and all the sound is in the center of my head. Not a problem, but I was surprised.
For those that are afraid that one will not be able to hear the engine or whatever, that's not a problem. You still hear everything, only much quieter. I sometimes leave the ASOS playing over the cabin speaker, but maintain tower comm in the headsets, and I can hear the ASOS just fine.
Thanks again for a great product.

Subject: kit
I just bought another old dc 10-40 headset and decided to see if I could find your company and could not find it advertised in tradeaplane so I started looking through my storage area (I never throw anything away and once in every 10 years it pays off) I found the box that your kit came in for my original headset and sure enough everything was still in the box including the receipt. It is dated 11/2/01 and the price is exactly the same $169 hard to believe.... I just flew with it last week and it still performs as well if not better then my buddies Bose at $1000. My only complaint is that I forget to turn the unit off or sometimes the switch gets pushed back on in the headset case and the battery dies just when you need it ... I think you should make the auto off a standard feature rather than an upgrade option the PR alone would be worth it.... So I need to order another unit for my new old headset and I need to know what this AMP cable is all about ... I have told and demonstrated your unit at least a thousand times over the last eight years and every one that tries it loves it ... My nephew is now taking lessons and is looking for a dc to modify.... anyway call me and I will discuss what I need .
